Power/ Fiber – OPALCO & RockIsland


Orcas Power and Light Cooperative (OPALCO) is a member-owned, non-profit utility cooperative servicing the Orcas Highlands.

  • There is a network of fiber optic cable throughout the Highlands for connecting to high-speed internet. The backbone network is provided and maintained by RockIsland Communications. Each property owner can establish their own account with Rock Island and bring the connection from the main road to their home. This final leg connection is at the property owners expense. There are loan programs available to support the final connection costs.
