Spurge Laurel

Shade tolerant shrub, 2-4ft tall. Leathery evergreen 1-5″ long.

Flowers: Small, Yellow/green & appear in clusters at the base of leaves.
Leaves: Alternate & abundant at shoot tips. They are narrow & oval, being wider above the middle & between 1”-5” long. Leaves are smooth, dark green, & shiny on top. Lighter in color underneath.
Mature bark: Gray with yellow hue while young branches are green.
Berries: Little & black with one seed, which is are poisonous. Green berries turn blue/black
Eradicate: 1) Pull up with 5-6” of root. 2) Cut as close to ground as possible & apply SJI County herbicide to stems in ground. Contact Noxious Weed Committee or SJI County Noxious Weed Control Board for herbicide.
